World Thrombosis Day

WTD logoOn Thursday 13th October 2016 the Thrombosis Committee for the Emersons Green and Devizes Treatment Centres will organise a special event to celebrate World Thrombosis Day (#WTD on social media).

During the day a stand will be in the reception area to display informative infographics from the ISTH/#WTD organisation and ThrombosisUK (UK organisation) Statistics specific to our Treatment Centres will also be shared
with the public.

The display will start at 09:00 on Thursday 13/10/2016 and will be kept until the open day (Saturday 15/10/2016). On the open day the display will be moved to the ward where room 1 will be dedicated to Thrombosis.
In the evening, Dr Janet Burchall (Haematologist) and the lead anticoagulation Nurse for North Bristol Trust (Lead RCN Steward: Sue Bacon) will come to our Treatment Centre to deliver an educational talk on the subject of Hospital Acquired Thrombosis (HAT) and specifically the “Prevention of post-operative thrombosis in secondary care” (mechanical and Pharmacological).

Agenda for the day:
09:00 - 17:00 Stand in Reception area on the topic of “HAT”
18:00 - 18:30 Foyer and reception area - A buffet will be provided.
18:30 - 19:30 Talk with Dr Burchall and Sue Bacon + Q&A.
19:30 - 20:00 Networking and closure.
