John McMenamin joins the team at Southampton NHS Treatment Centre as the new hospital director.
Before joining Care UK, John had spent 10 years in the Army as an officer, serving in cavalry, airborne and intelligence units.
On leaving the armed forces he joined the NHS where he was a general manager for theatres, anaesthetics and critical care. He then took up hospital director roles in the private sector with Nuffield and BMI, where he was recently hospital director of the latter’s facility in Winchester.
Outside of work his interests include adventure sports, sailing and rugby.
Speaking of his appointment John said: “I am delighted to have joined Southampton NHS Treatment Centre. As someone who has worked in senior hospital management in the region I have been aware of the Treatment Centre’s outstanding reputation for some time. I am looking forward to working with the team to enhance still further the excellent levels of treatment and care we provide for every single one of our patients.”
Andy Lunt, Managing Director, Secondary Care, Care UK commented: “John brings to our team a wealth of knowledge and expertise across the sector and beyond. He joins us at an exciting time for Care UK and Southampton NHS Treatment Centre, as we seek to build on our already outstanding performance and reputation for quality care. We are very happy to welcome him to Care UK.”
