Andrew Knight

CEO, Residential Care Services

I’ve joined Care UK at a busy and exciting point of its development. Many new, purpose built care homes are due to open over the coming months, we continue to  develop existing homes and the Residential Care Services arm of the business will see substantial growth. We are proud that more than 6,000 people currently live in our residential homes and the new builds have been designed to offer top quality care, luxurious living accommodation and wonderful life experiences for our residents.

Our people, services and customers are my top priority, so I have spent my first few months getting to grips with the business, meeting our professional and dedicated care teams, and talking to customers. We have busy times ahead, but we will continue to put the needs of our customers at the heart of everything we do to ensure they lead independent, enriched and fulfilling lives.

I’ve spent more than 20 years in senior management positions and have worked for Weight Watchers UK, Punch Taverns, Spirit Group, and Allied Domecq. During my career I have gained a wealth of experience in growing, managing and making businesses better at what they do.  Care UK has a solid foundation, an excellent reputation in its sector and business ethics that I can identify with and support. I’m looking forward to working with a team of people who genuinely care about the business and who work towards a common goal – to provide every customer with the very best service and the very highest standard of care.

I’m passionate about customer service and believe it should start at the very top of an organisation. Customer service is fast becoming a key business differentiator and businesses that align their strategy, culture, processes and people are out pacing competitors in customer loyalty and satisfaction surveys.

Care UK is committed to offering great customer services experiences to its customers – all of the time. We invest in our people from the time they are recruited and offer training, continuous development and support to help them care for our residents.

When I’m not working I Like to watch or participate in various sports.  Unfortunately, as I’ve grow older I am watching more than doing!  I have, however, encouraged my two daughters to have sporting hobbies and I regularly stand dressed for arctic conditions on the sidelines watching them play hockey or netball.
